The following are some related questions/task that faculty could give to the students as home work assignment. Some of these could also be included as exam questions

Review the articles in the reference section and related articles to answer the following questions:

1. Are glaciers a good indicator of global climate change?
2. Why do some glaciers retreat while some other glaciers in the proximity advance?
3. Write a review article of remote sensing of glaciers. In the article identify glacial features/phenomena that can be studied using remote sensing techniques. Also discuss the optimal remote sensing data and techniques for studying the respective features/phenomena.
